I won’t lie, 2023 is definitely one of the best years I’ve had!
I was taught all my life that after serving a mission, the next step is to get married as soon as you find the right person. This was the timeline that I always knew. I badly wanted to follow this timeline that I was taught. However, my timeline was not God’s timeline.
Caden and I first met in 2020 when Covid was still a thing, and things didn’t work out with our initial meeting. During our second meeting, things were good, but we weren’t there yet. However, the moment we built a real friendship, all the disappointments, heartbreak, and the previous years of waiting faded away, replaced with a renewed testimony of God’s perfect timing.
If you know our story, you might not think we would end up together after everything we went through, but God’s timing is perfect, and I’m so grateful for His patience with me as I persistently asked for my own timeline to happen instead. I would’ve waited a lifetime if that meant I got to end up with him.
Apart from marrying the love of my life this year, 2023 had stretched me in a lot of ways. It was rough, but the most important thing was I was able to learn from it.
